Privacy Policy
At FixEpub (fixepub.com), we respect your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data.
1. Data Collection
- Files: EPUB/MOBI/AZW3/PDF files you upload are processed for your selected conversion, text recognition, formatting or automatic translation service.
- Account: If you sign in, we may collect phone or OAuth identifiers for authentication.
- Logs: IP address, browser type, and task metadata for security and reliability.
- Payment: Processed by third parties (e.g. Alipay); we do not store card numbers.
Our first-party funnel uses a random session identifier, visit language, device category, source category and file-selection events, linked to internal order IDs to count verified payments and download responses. It does not collect book text, filenames, full referring URLs or payment credentials. The identifier is kept in sessionStorage and rotates on the next page load after 30 minutes. Server analytics uses a 90-day window; expired records are removed on subsequent writes. Funnel visits are not recorded when the browser sends DNT=1.
Visitor location is estimated locally using an offline IP database. This funnel stores only country/territory, province/state and city names, not full IP addresses or precise coordinates, and does not send visitor IPs to a third-party geolocation API.
2. Data Retention
- Uploaded files and results are deleted after task completion or within 24 hours.
- We do not keep long-term copies of your documents.
3. Third-Party Services
- Payment: Alipay and other compliant processors.
- Automatic translation: Translation via DeepSeek API; only book text needed for the task is sent.
- PDF text recognition: When third-party recognition is needed, the required source file or page images are sent to MinerU or DeepSeek, as described on the confirmation page.
- Analytics: May include Baidu Tongji / Google Analytics as configured on the site.
